How many people can be seated at L'Idéal?

L’Idéal features two indoor restaurant spaces: a more intimate dining room on the first floor seating up to 64 guests, and a larger room on the ground floor accommodating up to 90 guests. The venue also offers two spacious outdoor terraces, which can be partially or fully privatized depending on the size and style of your celebration.

A tent is not required for the reception, as the restaurant’s indoor spaces provide a comfortable plan B in case of bad weather. However, ceremonies take place outdoors.

No external caterer is required. Food service is provided on-site, as L’Idéal operates as a restaurant with its own culinary team preparing the reception.

The celebration can continue until approximately 5:15 PM, which corresponds to the closing time of the gondola. Extended hours until 10:00 PM may be arranged with privatization and an additional fee.

L’Idéal offers one suite on site. Additional accommodation options, including hotels and chalets, are available nearby in Megève for guests.

The best time to get married in Megève depends on the atmosphere you envision. Spring and summer weddings from May to the end of September are ideal for outdoor ceremonies, with long daylight hours, alpine landscapes, and pleasant temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C. Winter weddings from mid-December to early April offer a magical snowy setting and a true alpine ambiance, with colder temperatures typically between -10°C and 10°C.

To marry legally in France, at least one partner must be a resident and registered at the local Mairie prior to the wedding. Some churches may conduct religious ceremonies for international couples without civil registration. As a result, most couples complete the legal formalities in their home country and choose a symbolic ceremony in France, allowing them to focus fully on the celebration without legal constraints.

It is recommended to book L’Idéal Megève 12 to 18 months in advance, particularly for weddings planned during peak seasons in Megève, including summer (June to September) and winter (December to April). Couples considering spring or autumn dates may benefit from greater availability and more flexible booking conditions.

The closest major airport to Megève is Geneva International Airport (GVA), located approximately 1 hour by car. Well connected to major international cities, Geneva Airport is the most convenient arrival point for guests traveling from abroad. From the airport, private transfers, taxis, or rental cars provide easy access to Megève, with a scenic drive through the French Alps.

All we can say is WOW. When we decided on a destination wedding, the very first thing we did was look for a Planner. We spoke with a few, and found Monica of Haute Hedding to be immediately helpful, unfailingly efficient, knowledgeable, kind, and totally lovely – she has a warm relaxed energy which was essential in general but in particular later down the line when wedding planning started to get a little stressful.

You begin the journey with an exploratory call together, and the venues Monica returned with were perfect. She knows her stuff, that’s for sure! When planning a destination wedding your time out in your country of choice is precious, which is why it’s so important to have a bilingual local with strong relationships as your Planner.

Monica surpassed all of our expectations and we still have guests weeks after the event gushing about how it was the best wedding they have ever been to. It was, indeed, also the best wedding WE had ever been to, so we feel beyond grateful that it was our own!! We are totally blown away, and still floating on Cloud 9 weeks later. I could never adequately thank you for your guidance through this long and sometime hard process! I cannot believe how I had NOTHING to do! I sat. I watched. I danced. I visited. I slept! Terry and I just loved the weekend! HMB is the perfect venue especially for anyone who can use the whole space. Privatizing really made it special. Our guests loved the library!
The perceived value versus the actual cost was outstanding. All the food was excellent. I think we could have trimmed some of it back a bit but as a Southern woman – I like over feeding. I would be horrified if my food offerings seemed chintzy! The SAXOPHONIST!! Omgoodness! What a fantastic last minute addition!! That was crazy impact for the cost!!
All the flowers were magnificent! Everything was so beautiful! The throws added so much! Thank you and the florist so much for owning that! I could not have been happier!!

Raised amidst French mountain guides, she’s an embodiment of alpine passion, seamlessly transitioning from ski instructor by winter to a spirited wedding planner by other seasons. From the sunny Côte d’Azur’s shores to the Alpine forests, Magali thrives on the diverse landscapes of France, bringing a touch of her vibrant spirit to every occasion. And though every wedding leaves an emotional imprint on her heart, it’s the bonds she shares with her team, both in and out of the office, that truly makes every moment special.

Introducing Monica: Originally from the US she came to France as a student and basically never left! Leaving the concrete jungle of Southern California for the stunning French Alps, she has carved out a lifestyle and career fueled by passion for people and memorable experiences.

 

Celebrating 15 glorious years of transforming dreams into cherished ‘I dos,’ Monica is our foundational pillar of passion, dedication, and countless unforgettable stories. But beyond her prowess in orchestrating perfect moments, she’s an adventurer at heart. Monica thrives on the thrill of road cycling, feels the wind beneath her while skateboarding, catches waves surfing in Morocco (often alongside Anna), and takes to cross-country skiing during winter’s embrace.
