The panoramic terrace, with its almost 360-degree views of the Aiguille du Midi, Mont-Blanc, and Drus mountains, provides the perfect backdrop for an outdoor wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Guests can marvel at the beauty of the cascading glaciers and towering peaks, all while celebrating your love. Whether you’re planning a summer or winter wedding, this venue offers countless opportunities for incredible photo shoots, including the option to have skiing photos done before the ceremony, or even ski down the mountain to the aisle!

Once the sun sets, casting an orangish-pink alpine glow over the peaks, guests will move indoors to the chalet-style restaurant for a refined dinner featuring local specialties and wines. With two separate dining spaces – one seating 55 guests and the other 40 – La Bergerie ensures a cozy, intimate atmosphere for your celebration. After dinner and speeches, your guests will take the cable car back to the valley below, ending the night with a memorable journey back to the valley floor.

How many people can be seated at La Bergerie Restaurant?

The outdoor terrace at La Bergerie can accommodate up to 100 guests, making it ideal for outdoor ceremonies, cocktail receptions, or celebrations with beautiful mountain views. Indoors, the chalet-style restaurant features two separate dining rooms seating 55 and 40 guests, offering a warm and cozy atmosphere for more intimate receptions.

No tent is needed. The outdoor terrace is ideal for summer and winter ceremonies, with receptions held indoors. In case of bad weather, an indoor room downstairs is used as a backup.

From June to September, mild weather makes outdoor celebrations perfect. In winter, indoor receptions are cozy, but an outdoor ceremony is still suggested if conditions allow.

Yes, wedding ceremonies at La Bergerie can be held indoors or outdoors. The terrace offers a stunning setting year-round, with panoramic views of the Mont-Blanc massif in both summer and winter. For less predictable weather, the indoor space provides a warm and atmospheric alternative, with rustic beams, soft lighting, and a cozy alpine ambiance.

Catering at La Bergerie is provided in-house, with refined cuisine prepared using fresh, local Alpine ingredients. The culinary team works closely with couples to create a custom menu, featuring regional specialties such as fondue or raclette, while accommodating dietary preferences including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Dancing at La Bergerie is permitted until 11:00 PM, corresponding with the final cable car descent in case of venue privatization. Dancing typically takes place indoors, within the cozy chalet space, where the warm, wood-beamed interiors create an inviting atmosphere. While outdoor dancing may be possible during summer, indoor celebrations are generally recommended due to cooler alpine temperatures.

La Bergerie does not offer on-site accommodation. However, there are many options nearby in Chamonix, including luxury hotels, charming chalets, and vacation rentals just minutes away. Shuttle services can also be arranged to ensure smooth transport for guests.

The best time to get married in Chamonix depends on the atmosphere you envision. Spring and summer weddings from May to the end of September are ideal for outdoor ceremonies, with long daylight hours, alpine scenery, and pleasant temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C. Winter weddings from mid-December to early April offer a magical snowy setting and a true alpine ambiance, with temperatures typically between -10°C and 10°C.

It is recommended to book La Bergerie 12 to 18 months in advance, particularly for weddings planned during peak seasons in Chamonix, including summer (June to September) and winter (December to April). Couples considering spring or autumn dates should note that ski lifts may not be operating during these periods, which can impact access to the venue.

The closest major airport to Chamonix is Geneva International Airport (GVA), located approximately 1 hour by car. Well connected to international destinations, Geneva Airport offers easy access to Chamonix via private transfers, taxis, or rental cars, with a scenic drive through the French Alps.

To marry legally in France, at least one partner must be a resident and registered at the local Mairie prior to the wedding. Some churches may conduct religious ceremonies for international couples without civil registration. As a result, most couples complete the legal formalities in their home country and choose a symbolic ceremony in France, allowing them to focus fully on the celebration without legal constraints.

All we can say is WOW. When we decided on a destination wedding, the very first thing we did was look for a Planner. We spoke with a few, and found Monica of Haute Hedding to be immediately helpful, unfailingly efficient, knowledgeable, kind, and totally lovely – she has a warm relaxed energy which was essential in general but in particular later down the line when wedding planning started to get a little stressful.

You begin the journey with an exploratory call together, and the venues Monica returned with were perfect. She knows her stuff, that’s for sure! When planning a destination wedding your time out in your country of choice is precious, which is why it’s so important to have a bilingual local with strong relationships as your Planner.

Monica surpassed all of our expectations and we still have guests weeks after the event gushing about how it was the best wedding they have ever been to. It was, indeed, also the best wedding WE had ever been to, so we feel beyond grateful that it was our own!! We are totally blown away, and still floating on Cloud 9 weeks later. I could never adequately thank you for your guidance through this long and sometime hard process! I cannot believe how I had NOTHING to do! I sat. I watched. I danced. I visited. I slept! Terry and I just loved the weekend! HMB is the perfect venue especially for anyone who can use the whole space. Privatizing really made it special. Our guests loved the library!
The perceived value versus the actual cost was outstanding. All the food was excellent. I think we could have trimmed some of it back a bit but as a Southern woman – I like over feeding. I would be horrified if my food offerings seemed chintzy! The SAXOPHONIST!! Omgoodness! What a fantastic last minute addition!! That was crazy impact for the cost!!
All the flowers were magnificent! Everything was so beautiful! The throws added so much! Thank you and the florist so much for owning that! I could not have been happier!!

Celebrating 15 glorious years of transforming dreams into cherished ‘I dos,’ Monica is our foundational pillar of passion, dedication, and countless unforgettable stories. But beyond her prowess in orchestrating perfect moments, she’s an adventurer at heart.
