One of the spaces we are going to be working with in our new region is the Château de Rouffillac Venue in Dordogne. This unique venue is a  castle that dates back to the 12th century. It was recently bought by Cassandra and Kirk who have put their heart and souls into renovating this historical landmark. Their passion, eye for elegance, and desire to bring the chateau back to life has become the couple’s primary objective. They gave up their high tech executive jobs in Silicon Valley in California to pursue their dream of restoring a chateau in France.

Kirk was born is South Africa but lived all over Africa in Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, and Kenya. Through his childhood, he also lived in Australia and small pacific islands in New Guinea. He completed his education in England and fell in love with France as a young man then continued his career in the tech industry in the US.

Cassandra grew up on a large farm in Ohio surrounded by fields, forests, and horses. After she graduated she moved to California and worked in investment banking. She then pursued a career in the software industry overseeing a team of 100 employees as vice president. The two met at work nearly 8 years ago, and are proud parents to a beautiful outgoing 4-year old daughter. Now their journey has taken them to a hilltop in the Dordogne far from the hustle and bustle of suburban life.

Their chateau has 9 en-suite bedrooms overlooking the river, vast gardens and countryside views. Each one is luxuriously renovated and decorated to the highest standards of comfort, yet keeping the historical feel intact.

The castle includes a grand salon with painted ceilings, massive stone fireplaces in several of the common areas, a library with tapestries, oil paintings, and art pieces dating back hundreds of years. There is a gorgeous stone vaulted kitchen, terraced gardens, ramparts, pool, and even remains of an ancient lost city on the property. The castle is bursting with character, stories from long ago that are intertwined in our current history, along with a charm and tranquillity that is rare to find in our modern world.

We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Cassandra and Kirk. They are down-to-earth, generous, kind, and passionate. The love they have for France, the Dordogne region, and their home is ever-present. It will radiate into the energy they put forth when hosting future guests and weddings.

We CAN’T WAIT! Keep an eye on this page and our Instagram feed as we will be posting pictures and updates of Chateau Rouffillac and the Dordogne in the upcoming weeks!
