This French Alps chateau was the perfect backdrop for this fairytale wedding, complete with the good luck of having a double rainbow! That was just that start of this quite exceptional destination wedding in beautiful Val-d’Isère.
Nicola and Alan really love the mountains and have shared so many special memories at this ski resort close to the Italian border. They both love skiing and traveling and that is what really brought them together.
Both the bride and the groom got ready in rooms with views of the majestic mountains surrounding them. The bridesmaids dressed in all white, which we loved! They all chose differently cut dresses; some long, some short, and even one bridesmaid wore a pantsuit! We loved the contrast of this modern style in this historic castle.
Each part of the day was in a different part of the chateau, allowing guests to discover new treasures around every corner.
The ceremony was in the beautiful courtyard, with our in house celebrant, Charlie. Then followed the cocktail hour in the lush gardens on the property. The great thing about intimate weddings, everyone knows each other! So the fun started right away.
The dinner was held outside with exceptional vistas (and rainbows!) A few speeches were made before everyone headed down to the reception space.
The night ended with dancing in a vaulted wine cellar with secret underground passages! The entire event was an experience. The lighting added huge ambiance, from tiki torches, moon lanterns, and tall candles to set the mood.
Their French chateau slept 20 guests and hosted nearly 80 for the ceremony, dinner, and dancing. This venue was a great fit!
These two have traveled all over the world from diving in the Philippines to touring vineyards in South Africa. We know this is just the start of an adventurous life together. Congrats N&A!
