Lydia and Lloyd's Enchanting Wedding Weekend in Provence
Location: Provencal Château, Provence
Couple: Lydia and Lloyd
Season: Spring
How They Met:
Lydia and Lloyd’s love story began in the heart of London. Their shared love for travel and adventure quickly brought them together. They explored the world, savored culinary delights, and supported each other through life's twists and turns. Their bond grew stronger with each shared experience, leading them to this beautiful wedding weekend in Provence.
The Venue:
Lydia and Lloyd chose a charming Provencal château for their wedding. Nestled amidst rolling lavender fields and sun-drenched vineyards, this 18th-century château offered the perfect blend of elegance and rustic charm. The property also featured a villa, allowing all their guests to stay together and enjoy the festivities in a cozy, intimate setting. With two pools and a sunny garden, it was an idyllic location for their celebration.
The Wedding Weekend:
Welcome Dinner:
The festivities kicked off with a welcome dinner in the garden of the villa. Guests were greeted with a family-style buffet and an array of flowing drinks. Long-time friends and extended family members, many meeting for the first time, swapped stories about their beloved couple as the sun set over the lavender fields. The evening was filled with laughter, warmth, and anticipation for the big day ahead.
Wedding Day:
The morning of the wedding was relaxed and joyous. The girls gathered in a sunny suite located in the spire of the old castle, perfect for getting ready with its abundant natural light and stunning terrace views overlooking the lavender fields. Lydia looked like a fairytale princess in her lace gown with a plunging neckline and Louboutin red-bottomed heels. Her bridesmaids wore blush dresses in various styles, each complementing their unique figures.
Meanwhile, Lloyd and his groomsmen enjoyed a leisurely morning playing football and sipping whiskey. Dressed in a light-colored suit, Lloyd looked dapper alongside his groomsmen in double-breasted waistcoats.
The Ceremony:
The ceremony took place in a tree-lined alley of the château, providing a shady respite from the summer sun. The arch, adorned with lush green foliage and white and blush roses, set a romantic tone. One of the couple's favorite pianists traveled from the Alps to play, serenading guests with sweet melodies. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows under the watchful eyes of trees that had stood for centuries, with a British celebrant officiating the touching ceremony.
Cocktail Hour and Reception:
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails in the garden. Lydia and Lloyd, knowing their guests well, planned for multiple signature cocktails that delighted everyone. A jazz band played a modern playlist as guests mingled, wandered through the lavender fields, and soaked in the delightful scents.
The dinner was held under string lights next to the olive trees, creating a magical atmosphere. The jazz band continued with a classic set for dinner and speeches. The meal was a celebration of Provençal cuisine, featuring fresh, local ingredients. The pièce de résistance was the cake, a unique masterpiece with layers of pistachio sponge and chocolate cream, carrot sponge and vanilla cream, and vanilla sponge and praline cream.
Dancing and Celebrations:
As the night progressed, the pavilion transformed into a dance floor. Everyone danced the night away, taking silly photos in the photo booth and enjoying the freedom of no noise restrictions. Since all guests stayed on-site, they could retire to bed at their leisure, making it convenient for the diverse guest list. The celebration continued late into the night, filled with joy and laughter.
Post-Wedding BBQ Pool Party:
The day after the wedding, guests nursed their hangovers with a relaxed poolside BBQ. A massive spread for lunch awaited them as they slowly trickled down to the pool. Lydia brought a huge inflatable champagne bottle and a flamingo, adding a fun touch to the pool party. Guests lounged in the sun, cooling off in the pool and savoring the relaxed atmosphere.
Exploring Provence:
The rest of the weekend was spent exploring the beauty of Provence. Guests visited local vineyards, strolled through bustling markets, and soaked in the scenic landscapes. It was a perfect ending to a magical wedding weekend, allowing everyone to enjoy much-needed time together before flying back to the UK.
Expressions of Love:
Lydia and Lloyd's wedding was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to their love and the cherished bonds with their family and friends. Their thoughtful planning and the intimate setting made it an unforgettable experience for all.
Congrats Lydia and Lloyd on such a magical wedding weekend! The memories created in the enchanting surroundings of Provence will be cherished by everyone who was lucky enough to be part of this beautiful celebration.
