Rather than selecting a well-known wedding venue, they were drawn to a place with genuine meaning. The château sits just above Sylvie’s family home, making it a location filled with childhood memories and emotional significance. Its exclusivity made the celebration feel even more special, allowing their guests to experience a side of Provence few have the opportunity to discover.
The weekend began at nearby La Coquillade, where the couple and their loved ones gathered before the celebrations. Surrounded by vineyards and lavender fields, the luxury estate provided the perfect setting for a relaxed start to the wedding weekend, as well as the couple’s preparations on the morning of the ceremony.
The Setting:
Although they met and now live together in New York, Provence has long been woven into Sylvie’s life. It has been her family’s home away from home for many years, and over time it became equally meaningful to Andrew.
When they began planning their wedding, there was never any question about where it should take place. They wanted their guests to experience the region they loved so much – not through a formal destination wedding, but through an authentic celebration that reflected the relaxed beauty, warmth, and effortless elegance of Provence.
Every decision was made intentionally. Having attended many weddings together, they wanted each moment to feel personal rather than traditional for tradition’s sake. Their vision was simple: celebrate with the people they love in a place that already felt like home.
The Ceremony:
Set within the historic grounds of Château Marquis de Sade, the ceremony embraced the natural beauty of its surroundings.
With breathtaking views across the Provençal countryside and the château’s centuries-old stone walls creating an unforgettable backdrop, the atmosphere felt intimate, romantic, and elegant. Surrounded by family and friends who had travelled from around the world, Sylvie & Andrew exchanged vows in a place that held deep personal meaning.
It was a ceremony filled with emotion, joy, and quiet authenticity – one that reflected not only their relationship but also their connection to Provence itself.
The Decor:
Inspired by the landscape surrounding them, the couple embraced a naturally elegant design that celebrated Provence rather than competing with it.
Soft, organic floral arrangements highlighted seasonal blooms and delicate textures, allowing the beauty of the château to remain at the centre of the celebration. The menu followed the same philosophy, showcasing the flavours of the region with carefully selected local ingredients, including foie gras – a favourite of Sylvie’s – served as part of a live appetizer station.
Every detail was thoughtfully considered, creating an atmosphere that felt refined yet wonderfully relaxed, where every element reflected their personalities and their love for the region.
Cocktail Hour and Reception:
As the sun began to set over the Luberon, guests gathered for an unforgettable evening of exceptional food, heartfelt conversations, and celebration.
Dinner flowed naturally into the evening, without rigid transitions or formalities, creating the relaxed atmosphere the couple had envisioned from the very beginning. Rather than following a traditional first dance, Sylvie & Andrew chose a song by Dua Lipa, transforming what could have been a choreographed performance into an energetic moment shared with all of their family and friends.
One of the most memorable moments came later that evening, when the wedding cake was brought onto the dance floor surrounded by towering sparklers. As music filled the air, guests spontaneously erupted into celebration, creating a moment of pure joy that perfectly captured the spirit of the day.
The After-Wedding Celebration:
The celebrations continued the following day at La Coquillade, where everyone gathered once again to enjoy the relaxed pace of Provence.
With sunshine, vineyard views, and the peaceful atmosphere that makes the region so special, the after-wedding celebration offered the perfect opportunity to slow down, reconnect with loved ones, and savour every final moment together. It was the ideal ending to a wedding weekend centred on togetherness and creating lasting memories.

Sylvie & Andrew’s wedding beautifully reflected the idea that the most memorable celebrations are those that feel deeply personal.
